Original Monument


The remains of the monument near the top of Mousa Dagh in memory of the French warships that rescued the Armenian people on 12 September 1915. Picture taken on 12 September 2015, the 100th anniversary of the rescue.

The picture shows a Monument near the top of the Mousa Dagh mountain depicting a ship that saved the lifes of 4000 Armenian People in 1915 as described in Franz Werfel's book "The Forty Days of Mousa Dagh". The picture was taken by Andre Thess on 12 September 2015, the 100th anniversary of the rescue of the Armenians.
